PETRICHOEUR

Mon ami l’albatros me présente l’Océan :
A Maldone, feu ma fidèle et éternelle amie

THE AVIATOR
In the choir of the fields, motionless, arms dangling,
I observe, bare-chested, chained by thoughts
The thousand and one lively assaults of an attacked sky...
Little warrior from Dahomey, bursting forth,
Screaming... Gbeto¹ madly furious with life,
A swallow in the middle of an aerial combat,
A wild dancer, she doesn't let go!
Drawing her sword blows, goddess Fury,
Athena's arrow weighing eighteen grams,
Striking the azure sea, it stings,
Point, scar then disappear...Magnificent!
Unreasonable ubiquity, what a woman!
Slapping the weightlessness of his charcoal feathers
I stand speechless at the foot of this marvel.
I feel so helpless in the face of such
Virtuoso born from the hands of the beautiful Béhanzin²!
I embrace both poles and open myself to the sun.
"Icarus, how I would love to fly with her!"
¹ Famous female warriors of the kingdom of Dahomey, Benin, 19th century
² Gbowelé Béhanzin (1845-1906) Last king of Dahomey (Benin)
To the angels that were Caroline Aigle, Amélia Earhart, Jacqueline Auriol...
For you my Daughter, the example of these Women for your 18th birthday.

MY TURN TO HIDE THESE WORDS FROM YOU…
In my desk drawer,
I discover hidden words
Starting with “hello dad…”
A little slap in the heart, emotion...
I welcome your precautions
Prayers in this time
Conflictual, contagious.
I answer you quietly, my Angel,
My Love, my Reason, my Blood.
Your father is an old soldier
Very hardened, rest assured.
Grandma educated the Man well;
Grandfather, the beast of burden,
And Mom this harmony.
Your first cry resonates within me.
Since then, it has been the meaning of my life:
Take care of you, guide you
Towards this Woman… That you are.
I love you forever.
Dad
From a little note hidden by my mischievous Inés.
